Chrysler is facing a crisis. More than 250,000 2022 and 2025 Pacifica and Voyager models will be recalled due to airbag problems/defects. An airbag with insufficient pressure retention appears to increase the risk of ejection and injury during a crash,” the statement said.
The NHTA said this is due to improperly sealed seams
The recall potentially affects 250,651 vehicles and is because some side curtain airbags may not maintain enough pressure during deployment to limit the risk to passengers during certain types of crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The NHTA said this is due to improperly sealed seams, and dealers will inspect and replace the airbags as needed at no cost.
For its part, Chrysler has made these vehicles available to users free of charge. The company has emphasized that the problem stems from poorly sealed seams, which could compromise the effectiveness of the airbags during deployment.
Chrysler stated that it is not aware of any injuries
Chrysler has requested that NHTSA determine that the defect is immaterial to vehicle safety. If the request is denied, Chrysler must comply with its notification and repair obligations. Chrysler stated that it is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to this defect. The company is not currently facing legal action for the Chrysler airbag recall, but Top Class Actions closely monitors these recalls, as they sometimes lead to class-action lawsuits.
Vehicle owners are encouraged to follow the instructions in the recall notices for their Chrysler Pacifica and contact Chrysler Customer Service at 800-853-1403, quoting recall numbers 06C, 54C, and 55C, for further assistance.
Kia failed to detect an apparent production problem
This isn’t the first time a car manufacturer has had to recall cars due to errors. This year, it happened to the giant Kia. Apparently, at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong plant, reliability tests failed to detect an apparent production problem for at least 20 days. Due to human error, the South Korean company had to recall no less than 22,000 EV9 vehicles. As far as we can tell, the manufacturing plant forgot to fix the bolts that secure the vehicle’s rear seats.
According to Kia, the defect does not specifically affect those 22,000 vehicles, but the brand has decided to take a firm stance and avoid potential problems, withdrawing the entire batch from circulation despite having reported only a few specific defects. The affected production run would be models produced at the South Korean headquarters between September 25 and October 15 of last year, some of which reportedly reached various locations around the world.
Honda and the brake pedal pivot pin
Honda has also been affected by a defect, this time involving brakes, which has led to the recall of 259,000 vehicles. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers certain Honda Pilot models from the 2023 to 2025 model years, as well as cars under the manufacturer’s luxury Acura brand: the 2021-2025 Acura TLX and the 2023-2025 Acura MDX. The defect detected consists of a brake pedal pivot pin that was not properly secured during the assembly process, which could cause the pedal to move from its normal position.
Honda has reported that authorized dealers will inspect vehicles and replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary, free of charge. According to the NHTSA report, the company estimates that 1% of these vehicles have this problem.
It’s important to understand that although this can be kind of a headache for the owner of the vehicle, it must be checked. The most important of the use of a vehicle is the security, so make sue your car is 100% ok before driving.
