If you are one of the recipients of monthly checks issued by Social Security (SSA) in the United States, you will be interested to know when that money is expected to appear on your bank account. Both the Social Security and the Social Security Disability Program (SSDI) work under the same method; you will receive your check based on your date of birth and the benefit to which you are entitled. Payments are not overdue as such, but there will be people who have to wait a little longer.
Payments and beneficiaries
Nearly 69 million Americans who benefit from SSA and SSDI support will soon receive their June payment. Retirees and people with disabilities will soon be able to enjoy their admission. The method used to organize this amount of support has been based on the date of birth and the benefit to which the beneficiary is entitled. With this measure they intend to be more effective and efficient from the Public Administrations.
The planning of these payments can be consulted on the official website of the Social Security (SSA), where the annual calendars with the payment dates for all benefits appear. In this way, the beneficiary can be kept informed of any changes that may affect their payment and be planned accordingly. In fact, that is one of the advice given by the administration; check the web from time to time for any changes.
Social Security Disability Program (SSDI) payments
The Social Security Disability Program (SSDI) has been in operation in the United States since 1935, with the goal of safeguarding the well-being of all citizens. Currently, this programe is open to people with a demonstrable disability that prevents them from continuing their work and who have worked for as long as necessary to pay the social security system, This programe is based on taxes on payrolls.
Social Security (SSA) and Social Security Disability Program (SSDI)
As already mentioned, both the Social Security and SSDI have unified their payment method; both are based on the date of birth of the beneficiary, as well as the type of support they request. The following dates apply from 1997:
- People with birth dates from 1 to 10 of the month. Payment date on the second Wednesday of the month (11 June 2025).
- People with dates of birth from 11 to 20 of the month. Payment date on the third Wednesday of the month (18 June 2025).
- People with a birth date from 21 to 31 of the month. Payment date on the fourth Wednesday of the month (25 June 2025).
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
In addition to the assistance provided by social security, there is an extra income that citizens can also apply for; the Supplementary Security Income (SSI). This is income for people over 65, people with limited resources, people who are blind or have an eligible disability, and also children with disabilities. Adults with no disabilities who do not exceed the $2,019 threshold are also listed.
It has been agreed to make these payments on the first day of the month, but if it overlaps with a weekend, you will have to wait for the next business day. Payments for the months remaining until the end of the year are already scheduled:
- July payment: 1 July 2025.
- August payment: 1 August 2025.
- September payment: 30 August 2025.
- October payment: 1 October 2025.
- November payment: 31 October 2025.
- December payment: 1 December 2025.
- January payment: 31 December 2025.
If you are late and do not receive your payments on time, you can file a complaint first with the bank and then with the SSA. Any of the physical offices may provide assistance. However, it is recommended to wait 2 or 3 days before claiming, as although the waiting times have been reduced thanks to electronic payments, there may be some delay.
